The Offender Services Partnership
We are a group of organisations in the private, not-for-profit and third sectors who have come together to meet the challenge below.
‘Partnerships with a wider range of providers
offer us a real opportunity to improve our
services, and there are a number of
examples where partnerships are already
working on the ground. Our challenge is to
build on such collaborative efforts...’
‘Improving Prison and Probation Services: Public Value Partnerships’ NOMS, August 2006
We do so because we passionately believe we have a contribution to make to managing offenders to reduce crime and protect the public. Each of us has long experience of working with offenders, and we each have an excellent track record of success in our particular fields.
We know that the complex needs of offenders require complex interventions, and that no single organisation can from its own resources provide all that is needed to help offenders turn their lives around. We are all experienced in working in partnership with others, including the public sector, to deliver a seamlessly
integrated service.
Partnership is our name, and our approach. We are in business to support the public sector correctional services, in custody and in the community, by matching our capabilities to your needs, to enable and support your success.
Delivery through partnership
Our offer includes:
• Helping offenders into sustained employment
• Providing skills and learning opportunities for offenders
• Support for developing unpaid work
• Extra capacity for accredited programmes
• Supervision of low and medium risk offenders
• Offender transport
• IT and technical support
• Design, construction, finance and management of secure facilities through PFI
(or separate facilities management contract)
• Consultancy support
We offer a single integrated package based on these capabilities that can help you develop and improve your current service delivery.
For example, Ministers have set a target to double volumes of unpaid work, while combining community involvement, visible payback and linking to ongoing employment.
We can help by:
• Reducing attrition rates
• Sourcing better quality placements
• Improving offender skills
• Linking to sustained paid employment
• Helping you get added value from available resources
